What important event is discussed in the Book of Acts?

The event tested is the coming of the Holy Spirit at Pentecost and its fulfillment. Acts centers on the early church beginning after Jesus’ ascension, and Pentecost marks the moment when the Spirit descends on the believers, empowering them to boldly proclaim the gospel and perform works of witness. This event fulfills Jesus’ promise that the Helper would come to guide and empower the disciples, and it signals the gospel’s expansion beyond a single community to all nations as people hear in their own languages. The birth of Jesus and the Sermon on the Mount belong to the Gospel accounts, not Acts, and the Epistles are letters written after these events. So the Pentecost event and its fulfillment is the key focus of Acts.
